Further Information

Carsten Reinemann (1971) is a professor of political communication at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, Germany. He earned his Master Degree (1997) and completed his dissertation (2003) in Mass Communication at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. In 2007, he finished his "Habilitation" there. Since August 2008 he is holding a chair of communication science with a focus on political communication at Munich University.

His current research interests include the communicative aspects of populism and extremism, media literacy and a variety of other topics in the area of political communication. Besides several books and book chapters he has authored or co-authored articles in the Journal of Communication, Communication Research, the European Journal of Communication, The International Journal of Press/Politics, the International Journal of Public Opinion Research, Communications, Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, Journalism, Studies in Communication and Media, Medien- und Kommunikationswissenschaft and Publizistik.

He is a member of the International Communication Association (ICA), the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), the German Communication Association (DGPuK) and the German Election Research
Association (DGfW).
